Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstract submission is now open!

Here is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your work to colleagues from all over Pakistan and abroad.

We are pleased to invite you to a fun filled academic activity. Be creative and present your research work with either an oral or electronic poster abstract to a wide audience. Here is an opportunity to develop and enhance your presentation skills on a global platform with colleagues from diverse backgrounds at an international forum.

Electronic poster presentation first time in Pakistan in an OBGYN conference!

There is a paradigm shift in many areas in research over the last few years and to keep up we are delighted to be hosting the first ever e- Posters at an OBGYN conference in Pakistan.

All posters for the congress are electronic and the e-Posters are displayed in the Exhibition Hall on plasma screens and dedicated poster viewing stations.

Authorship Guidelines

The submitting author should also be the author for correspondence. An individual may be the submitting author on a maximum of two abstracts but can be co-author on any number of abstracts.

The presenting author may or may not be the submitting/corresponding author. An individual may be the presenting author on a maximum of two abstracts.

Important Information

  • The Committee reserves the right to decide on the final method of presentation.
  • It is preferred that abstract are submitted online.
  • Please remember that submitting an abstract does NOT automatically register you as a conference delegate. All presenters have to be registered for the conference.
  • All communications about your abstract submission will be sent to the email address you submit.
  • The detailed bio data including full first and family name(s) of submitting/corresponding author and all co-authors, designation, name of affiliated department and institution/ hospital, city, state (if relevant), country ,email address and contact number must be sent along with abstract.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Abstract text should clearly state:
    • Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions
  • Abstracts should refer to completed work and not work in progress, should include details of the results to be presented and should not include phrases such as ‘the findings will be described’
  • Use standard abbreviations only and place any unusual abbreviation in parenthesis after the full word the first time it appears
  • Use generic names of drugs
  • References should be consistently presented in Vancouver style


All abstracts will undergo review by Scientific Committee and the committee will determine whether abstracts will be accepted as oral or poster presentations with consideration to be given to the author’s preference. Submitting authors will be notified via e-mail 15th October, 2019 regarding the status of their abstract acceptance.

Instructions for Preparation of an Abstract

Title (Max. 25 words): The title is limited to 25 words in UPPER CASE (e.g. COMMON LAPAROSCOPIC FINDINGS). The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to indicate clearly the nature of the abstract. If you wish to include a subtitle it must be included in this field and included in the 25 word limit.

Abstract text

Abstract (Max. 300 words): The text is limited to 300 words, including acknowledgements. We recommend using word-processing software (for example, Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words. Any abstracts exceeding the word limit will not be accepted.

  • Authors: You MUST enter the names of all authors here (including yourself if you are an author) in the order in which you wish them to appear in the printed text. Names omitted here will NOT be printed in the author index or the final program. Please ensure the spelling of their names and affiliations is correct.
  • Presenters: The system will only allow you to nominate one presenter, which can be yourself (the person submitting the abstract) or any other of the authors
  • Abstracts containing previously presented data are eligible for submission. However, inclusion of updated data is encouraged.
  • All notifications regarding abstract status, including notifications regarding abstract submission, abstract acceptance and scheduling, will be sent to the submitting/corresponding author. The submitting/corresponding author will be responsible for informing the other co-authors about the status of the abstract.
  • Upon submission, the submitting/corresponding author confirms that the abstract has been proofread and that all information is correct.
  • Submission of the abstract constitutes the authors’ consent to publication (e.g. Annual Meeting website, programs, other promotions etc.)

Poster Presentation Guidelines

Instruction for poster writing

 Poster should have 800 words.

  1. Size of poster should be 3 feet x 4 feet
    1. Title: Should briefly convey the interesting issues
    2. Abstract: do not include an abstract on a poster. A poster is an abstract of your research.
    3. Introduction: Approx 200 words
    4. Material & Method: Briefly discuss equipment and procedure.
    5. Result: briefly discuss qualitative and descriptive results, may include tables. (approx:200 words)
    6. Conclusion: Remind the reader of major result and state whether your hypothesis was supported. (approx 200 words)
    7. Literature cited: References.
    8. Acknowledgement: Thanks individual for specific contributions.
    9. Further information: If you have not screened up somehow. You can use this section to provide your email address.
  2. Do not use bullets.
  3. Width of text boxes should be approx 45-65 characters.
  4. Use italics instead underlining.
  5. Set line spacing of all text to be exact ally 1.
  6. Avoid dark backgrounds.
  7. Complete entire poster on a single platform.
  8. Give your graphs title on information phrases.
  9. Make sure that detail on graphs, tables and photographs can be comfortably viewed from 6 feet away.
  10. Give the source for any image that is not yours.
